Once you have decided to sell your property you will need to provide proof that your sewage system is compliant with Rule 9 of the Environmental Agency's Binding Rule that came into effect in 2020.

To have the sale accepted, you must provide proof that your current sewage system complies with he above rule. This can be supplied in the form of a "Look and See" Compliance Report.

To complete the Report, we would visit the site, check the system, and provide you with a report to provide evidence that the system complies. 

​

This involves us checking the full system including soakaway or outlet pipe for drainage. It is therefore important that the tank has not been emptied prior to our visit otherwise the report will show as inconclusive.

​

Should the system be non-compliant, we will provide a quote for repairs to make it compliant or a quotation to provide a new Treatment Plant System if repairs are not viable.

Upon the completion of the sale, you need to provide information to the buyers as per the Environment Agency's Binding Rule (Section 13) which states:

• A description of the treatment system and drainage system. 

• The location of the main parts of the treatment system, drainage system and discharge point.

• Details of any changes mad to the treatment system and drainage system.

• Details of how the treatment system and drainage system should be maintained and the maintenance manual if you have one. 

• Maintenance records if you have one.

Should you not have details of your system we will try two provide a copy for you. 

​

The cost of the Compliance Report is £250.00 + VAT.
